A tale to share...

Here's a poem written by Malaysia's former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. Well, i guess this poem is true in the 'now' context and i have to somewhat agree. Maybe it's a bit controversial kind of issue but, the words contain meaning that can be serve as reminder for particularly us the malays.

some of us tend to forget our roots when we're all high and mighty. We prefer to portray to others that other languages are much 'easier' and 'better' to grasp as compared to our very own Mother Tongue. We tend not to feel proud to speak properly in Malay. The prove is, : through the choice of malay words that we choose when we're speaking the language as well as the way we speak Malay - awkward, not used kind of feeling. Cakap tak serupa buat. Admit it. It's true right? Even, i have to admit it but I'll try to maintain my higher malay language and speak proper malay when possible so that others respect me and my language.

Barulah ianya dikatakan melayu SEJATI, ya tak? It should be something that comes naturally from the heart, not from the lips only. remember that.

Now... enjoy and analyse..

Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya dipijak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya retak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya teriak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya haprak
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya kelas dua
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya hina
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya sengketa
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya derita
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya kerdil
Melayu mudah lupa
Dulu bangsanya terpencil
Melayu mudah lupa
Tiada daulat
Tiada maruah
Tiada bebas
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Melayu mudah lupa
Sejarah bangsanya yang lena
Tanah lahirnya yang merekah berdarah
Ingatlah Ingatlah Ingatlah
Wahai bangsaku
Jangan mudah lupa lagi
Kerana perjuanganmu
belum selesai...
